The Right Sunscreen Solution: Skin Care Secret 6

How do I choose the Right Sunscreen for my skin?

Choosing the right sunscreen that works for my skin has been an uphill task. I have oily to combination sensitive skin that is prone to hyperpigmentation. In addition, my profession involves prolonged periods of intense sun exposure. So I am now very careful about sunscreen application. These are a few of the sunscreens that I have used and have worked well for me and some that have not.

Solasafe Sunscreen Gel:

This sunscreen was dermatologist prescribed and till now its one of my favourite. Its not a gel but rather a soft cream which blends in easily, and leaves a silky finish. It might feel a bit oily on touch but I tackle that by blotting with a tissue or using translucent powder. The best part about this sunscreen is it leaves no white cast and had not caused any pilling for me. Also priced at around Rs 600)- its very pocket friendly. So its a 5/5 for Solasafe.

Right Sunscreen: Solasafe

Dermalogica Oil Free matte:

It is a sunscreen lotion which blends easily but it is not all matte and made my skin oily. It does not leave any white cast, but I did not like this sunscreen overall. A big reason maybe the price which was around Rs 3000/- . So I wont be re-purchasing this one.

Innisfree Sunscreens:

I have recently used two sunscreens from the Korean brand Innisfree.
One is Intensive Triple-shield Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ and the other is Tone Up No Sebum Sunscreen SPF35 PA+++
The Tone up No Sebum Sunscreen has a cream like consistency but good for oily skin as it promises sebum control. It does not cause any pilling but it’s a bit tough to blend in and leaves a white cast. I used this one during my fieldwork and it worked in minimizing the sun tan. So if you can ignore the white cast and have to go through periods of intense sun exposure then this sunscreen will work for you. I got it for under Rs 1000/- so for me it is a 4/5.
The Intensive Triple-shield Sunscreen, I did not like so much because of oiliness together with a greyish white cast. But it also worked very well in controlling the sun tan. So though it does a good job of sun protection, its not for my skin.

Requil Ultra Matte Dry Touch Sunscreen Gel

The Requil sunscreen is not really a gel but rather like a dry cream

which blends in very easily leaving a silky finish rather than a matte finish on my skin. It leaves no white cast. I have not used it during prolonged sun exposure, but my sister said it does a good job of protecting the skin for the sun.

Biore Watery Gel Sunscreen:

This is a Japanese brand and is a new favourite of mine. It blends in easily, leaves a dewy finish, minimal to no white cast when mixed in well. And it does its job of sun protection like a Ninja! I am in love with this sunscreen and am about to purchase a second bottle. They have a watery sun protection essence also which I am going to try out soon. For the Biore sunscreen it’s a 5/5 for me 😍.

The Right Sunscreen for me!

P.S I have sensitive skin but none of these sunscreens have not caused any breakout or rashes for me. That is how I know that I have chosen the right sunscreen. I control the oiliness/ shine due to sunscreen by brushing on some loose translucent powder.
P.P.S This is not an affiliate/sponsored post and I have bought all of these products myself. These sunscreen have worked well for me. Don’t forget go carry out a patch test before trying out any new skincare products.
