Book Review: PRAGUN’S TIFFIN TREATS by PraGun

Introduction

PRAGUN’S TIFFIN TREATS has a collection of alphabetical tiffin or snacks ideas. These options are not only great tiffin ideas but also great snacks options too. The author has picked and collected all options that her kids also love to take in their tiffins.

About the Book

Everyone who packs lunch for themselves/husband/children will know what a huge challenge it is to come up with new and unique tiffin ideas to keep everyone happy. This book is a god send for tackling this daily problem.

What I liked about this book:

The best part about PRAGUN’S TIFFIN TREATS is that the recipes are alphabetically arranged. Also for each alphabet there are a multiple recipes many of which are pretty unique. Like A for appe, almonds, apple slices, apricots, B for bread roll breakfast energy nutritious bars, banana, bread pizza , bread poha, bread butter, batata vada and so on.

Each of the recipes are accurately described and it is pretty clear from the details that the author has tested each of them personally.

Tips

The author has given some great tips for overcoming some general problems like sprinkling lemon juice to avoid browning of sliced apples etc.
Some of the recipes like zafrani pulao is a tad bit too much for tiffin but nevertheless it is a nice and easy microwave recipe.
The recipe for Thalipith and Ragi roti seemed to be very interesting and I am going to try it soon!

What could be better?

The photographs of a food related or recipe book plays an integral role in determining the likeability of the book. Each recipe in this book is accompanied with a photograph. But the author can pay a bit more attention to the food photography. They can be of better quality and larger size to do full justice to the awesome recipes.

Last Word

It is evident that Pragun has worked very hard for this wonderful compilation of mouth-watering recipes. Her efforts are reflected in the formatting of the book and overall arrangement. Her kids are really lucky to have a mom who gives so much effort to come up with unique and healthy recipes to keep them happy.
