Incredible India, Bucket List of must visit destinations : A Review

Incredible India Bucket List: Book cover

Book Review of Incredible India, Bucket List by Aditya Sathe. Travel is like an addiction. The thought of planning the next trip helps to keep us going on in the daily drudgeries of life. So the past 2 years have been really difficult from all aspects, and especially from the travelling point of view.

So when I came across this book “Incredible India Bucket List” by Aditya Sathe in Blogchatter’s ebook listing I was intrigued. What better than a book with a list of must visit places in our beautiful country?? I really wanted to go through the book to get to know about new travel destinations, as well as compare notes about the ones that we have already been to.

Book Highlights

The book has a list of some really cool new destinations that have made it to my travel bucket list. Aditya has given a special emphasis on destinations with historical and architectural importance. Of these places I have been lucky enough to have visited Cellular Jail in Port Blair, Fort Kochi in Kochi, Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Orccha Fort Complex in Madhya Pradesh, Sun Temple I Konarak, Orissa and Udaipur City Palace in Rajasthan.

Destinations I added to my Bucket List

Amongst the other travel destinations mentioned in this book, I would really love to visit the following places:
Edakkal Caves in Wayanad, Kerala to see the neolithic age stone petroglyphs.
Gir Forest to see the majestic Asiatic Lions
Loktak lake, the freshwater paradise of Manipur
Marina beach, as I am yet to vist Chennai till date
Nandi hills near Bangalore, to try out few of the treks and nature trails
Warangal fort, and Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh during their local festivities as suggested by the author.

The Redeeming Factors

The author has a lucid style of writing. The best part about this book is that in each of the destinations he has given detailed descriptions about history, architecture, tourist attractions etc. It is not an easy thing to research at such great depths about so many varied destinations, and the author has done a commendable job.

What can be Improved?

One thing that could have been included is a bit of details about how to reach each of the destinations. I know all details are easily available online these daus , but having the information in a concise form always helps. Some information about local cuisines would be very helpful too. Also once the author has travelled to all the destinations, maybe the next edition can have his own travel photographs together with fun personal anecdotes to create an even deeper connect.

Overall this is a good book to have with you if you are planning for your next travel destination as per the author, truly the “world lives on hope”.

Book Blurb

There is a saying in Marathi, “केल्याने देशाटन, चातुर्य येतसे फार” meaning if you travel across the country, you become clever. In the case of our motherland, we are blessed with such a vast landmass and a varied culture. It is very hard to cover all the places from our Incredible India. So, this book presents you a bucket-list of 26 places spanning across India which include natural wonders as well as man-made master pieces which will not fail to impress visitors.
