Two letters X and Y. They hold a lot of cosmic responsibility in the human universe. X and Y are sex chromosomes, the deciding factor between a man and a woman. So simple but so very complicated at the same time.
Human Genome
When were studying Biology, we learnt about chromosomes and DNA and the basics of genetics.The human genome is composed of DNA which in turn is made of 23 pairs of chromosomes, one set inherited from each parent. The 23 rd pair is the sex chromosome.The X chromosome is nearly ten times larger than the Y chromosome. It also has more protein coding genes than the X chromosome. The Y chromosome is the factor which mainly determines the gender.
Evolution
Now, to think of it looks how far human beings have evolved that we are naming our chromosomes with letters of our choice. And to think just 5000 years ago all of this was unimaginable to human beings. The evolution of human knowledge and how far we have come in our scientific endeavours is a marvelous feat. However there is a feeling that we have only scratched at the surface of our knowledge gathering.
Human beings were simple hunter gatherers and foragers before we moved onto agriculture. Then the shift to industries and currently the AI revolution is mind boggling! In all these two simple letters X and Y are supposed to define the differences and complexities of man and woman. Maybe AI will now help us delve deeper into the gender mystery and we will get to know even more than we know now!

From biology class to human genomes and to genetics and then genetic engineering, and this is not the end. We have evolved, and we keep evolving to survive-Darwin’s law. We have to accept the change because that is the only truth. I liked your concept of X and Y, the letters of our choices we use to name. Why did they ever choose X and Y only? Now, it is my quest.
