Wedding bells

Wedding

How does it feel to be your own wedding planner? Its feels great. Wedding bells were round the corner for us when we finally managed to converge in our respective families. Ours was an extra special one followed by small reception where our families, dear friends and well wishers were present.

Paperwork/formalities

It officially started with collecting and filling up of marriage form from the ADM court in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The lawyer search was done very nicely after a few hiccups; as if God had sent one of his messenger in disguise to help us. Then we met the ADM under whose presence the marriage would be solemnised.  That  experience was exhilarating. The ADM was such a nice person. I am really his ‘pankha’ or even an AC.

He was a music enthusiast too. He was very particular about hearing songs in original lossless music format. I was highly impressed since, I resonated with the same feeling. We had a chat outside our purview with him about music which was fun. He even kept a BOSE mini speaker with him where songs would play in mild volume while he was working.

Shopping

It was the best and also the most tiring part. We did it in phases and took about 4 months till the penultimate day of our wedding. MIL was with us in some part of our shopping. She gave me a diamond ring embedded in white gold, the only piece of jewellery I own! I got to choose it myself. Except wrist watches i cant withstand any metallic accessories on my body. But, I really like’d my wedding ring. I gave the love of my life a rose gold diamond ring. Its a single piece diamond but not solitaire (I have to give her a solitaire, as promised.. ).

Wedding dress

Her wedding dress was a bottle green-with bronze coloured design combination saree. It suited her so well that she looked like an angel. For reception, a very nice red-bronze combination saree she wore. She was looking fiery. An unknown lady (customer) complimented her.. “Aapko yeh bahut jach raha hain.. aap yehi lo”. Obviously we took it.

I wore a sherwani-jacket combo for the wedding and a great, expensive blue suit from The Complete Man store. It was gifted by her and she went slightly overboard with it. But, the fabric was amazing. Looks great too.

The cake

Next fun thing was the cake tasting, designing and ordering. After a lot of trial tasting we bought from our favourite bakery called ‘Oven’ in jaipur.  My fiancé designed and ordered it. The bakery guys executed it really really well. We loved it.

We decided  for a 5 star reception. Not because we could afford it. But, because we felt we deserved it. We somehow always get great deals. We were called for food tasting. It was super fun. Thereafter, we played snooker together for the first time. I had played earlier in my college days. She seemed to have enjoyed it first time.

The day

We set out in the morning .. and at around 11:15 am, 23.03.2017 our vows got exchanged in front of the judge, family members and friends. We mutually signed ‘the’ document, exchanged rings and happily living ever since then.. with a few unfriendly moments in between. Overall, the journey so far was fun and  great.

To my love: Thanks for being always there alongside me in thick and thin. You rock!!
