Breads and Breakfast by Shail Thosani : A review

According to Wikipedia the humble breads made with flour and water has been a important part of human civilization . Its presence in recorded history shows that bread is consumed in large parts of the world as a staple food. My journey with bread baking started in 2019 when I baked my first Milk Loaf. Then there was a nearly one year gap and the bread bug bit me again. I was baking a new loaf of bread every other day. I taught my bread making method to my family and brother in law makes a pretty awesome loaf these days. So you can very well understand that I have a pretty deep relationship with bread.

This is a main reason why I decided to review the book “Breads and Breakfast” by Shail Thosani from the Blogchatter Ebook Library 2021.

The book is divided mainly into two parts. The first part has 10 savory recipes using breads and the second part has 10 more general breakfast recipes.

Highlights

From the first part i.e savory recipes using breads part, my favourite is the foccacia bread recipe. I am going to be making it very soon. The other recipes are sandwiches with a variety of fillings that can be rotated for yummy breakfast ideas. The second part of the book consists of general breakfast recipes. Of these my favorites are cheesy moonglet , moong dal chilla and wheat jaggery chilla. I love besan chilla .These new varieties of chilla have intrigued me. They seem to be healthy as well as tasty. So these breakfast recipes are coming up very soon in our !

What I liked

Each recipe is accompanied with delicious and mouth watering photographs which are a great positive for any recipe book.
The ingredient lists and recipes are very detailed which reflects that these are all tried and tested recipes .
The author started cooking after class 12 and I felt that she is a kindred soul as I too developed an interest in cooking from an early age. Like she has mentioned, cooking is a stress buster for me too.
What Could be Better?
I tried a lot but could not really find any flaw in the book itself! Maybe if I am forced to say then, the cover photo could be a bit bigger and brighter to make it more attractive. Also the book ended very suddenly. So maybe a concluding page or a author bio would have been a good ending.

Shail Thousands is a homechef and loves to cook different dishes and bake cakes and breads. She is alawyer by profession but that has never stopped her from being a cook. This is her first e-book and in this she has tried to compile some easy and simple recipes.
