Bougainvillea Retreat & Spa is a quaint resort very near Guwahati airport. This resort was on our radar for nearly a year since we would cross it on our way to our field area in Garo Hills, Meghalaya. Everytime we would be near, me an hubby would discuss that we had to go there atleast once.
Finally we did that and not once but twice within a span of a year. That’s how lovely and affordable this picturesque resort nestled amongst the foothills of the Assam Meghalaya border is.
According to their Facebook page “Unwind amidst lush greenery, rejuvenate with our signature spa therapies, and experience the perfect blend of luxury and tranquility”. And I am glad to say from two times first hand experience, this resort does live up to the description.
Location: How to reach
The resort is located in Tiniali-Rani Road, Maliata,Assam only a 30 minute drive from Guwahati Airport. The road was smooth when we went and the drive was very comfortable.
We reached the gates of the retreat and were greeted with the site of a pretty as a picture bougainvillea arch framing the entrance.
The entire driveway was crowned with the bejeweled arch of ruby, golden, pearly and peachy shades of bougainvillea blooms.

There are several categories of rooms, and on both our visits we stayed in two different type of suites. Both were nice. I will share the categories in the pictures. Our first trip to the retreat was with two of our colleagues Arvind and Anicia and their kid. The second trip was our couple trip. Both of the trips were memorable in its own way.
The entire retreat has a good area and spread over a wide expanse of undulating land with a tiny hillock in the middle, a pool , a lawn and a spa. Lots of space to walk, cycle and enjoy with family.
The Food
Worth mentioning is the food which was tasty on both the occasions. The breakfast buffet was a generous and delicious spread with a wide variety of food for all palates.

This resort looks beautiful and sounds affordable as well. Your description makes it even better. Kudos!
I love Bougainvillea and the pics that you’ve put are amazing. Different shades of Bougainvillea at one place makes it look so colourful. It was great to read that you enjoyed your stay in the resort. I wish I could visit there someday.
